Once a personalized plan is established, ovarian stimulation begins. ● Egg Retrieval and Fertilization
When your eggs are ready, you’ll receive a “trigger shot” to prepare them for retrieval. About 36 hours later, the egg retrieval procedure is performed in our comfortable, private surgical suite—typically under sedation for your comfort. Simultaneously, a semen sample is collected from your partner or a selected donor. In our on-site embryology laboratory, our highly trained embryologists use the latest technology to fertilize the eggs, either by traditional IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), depending on your specific situation.

● Embryo Development and Transfer
Over the next several days, your embryos are carefully monitored for development and quality. At Conceptions Fertility Center, we offer advanced options such as preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) to screen for genetic conditions when appropriate. After three to five days, the healthiest embryo(s) are selected for transfer. Our gentle, ultrasound-guided embryo transfer is performed right here in our clinic, and any remaining high-quality embryos can be cryopreserved for future use.

● Support, Counseling, and Follow-Up
Approximately two weeks after embryo transfer, we perform a blood test to determine if pregnancy has occurred. For women under age 35, IVF success rates are typically the highest. At Conceptions Fertility Center, women in this age group often experience live birth rates ranging from about 40% to 50% per IVF cycle. As age increases, chances of success gradually decrease. Women aged 35 to 37 generally have a 35% to 40% chance of a live birth per cycle at our center, while those aged 38 to 40 see rates closer to 20% to 25%. For women between 41 and 42, success rates drop to around 10% to 15%. After age 42, the likelihood of achieving a live birth with IVF is considerably lower—often less than 5% per cycle—largely due to diminished ovarian reserve and reduced egg quality.

It’s important to remember that these percentages are averages and that every patient’s situation is unique. Factors such as your overall health, medical history, and even the use of donor eggs can influence your outcome. We also see higher success rates when donor eggs from younger women are used, regardless of the recipient’s age.

For women under 35, live birth rates per cycle are typically between 40 and 50 percent. Women in their late 30s and early 40s may experience lower per-cycle success rates, but after three full IVF cycles, about 65 to 80 percent of women under 40 achieve a live birth.

Each IVF cycle includes several critical steps: ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilization, and embryo transfer. Not every cycle will result in an embryo transfer, as sometimes there may not be viable embryos available.
