Service Details for Assisted Reproduction
Monitoring • You will receive up to 7 ultrasounds (typically 5-7 for IVF and 2-3 for FET). • Blood work includes, but is not limited to, estradiol, progesterone, first HCG level. |
Cycle teaching • You will be assigned an IVF coordinator to will guide you through your assisted reproduction cycle. • You will be given access to Engaged MD educational videos. • You will be taught how and when to give yourself injections. |
Egg retrieval procedure • Eggs are retrieved under sedation through ultrasound-guided Follicle Aspiration. |
Fertilization • An embryologist adds eggs and sperm together in the laboratory for fertilization. • In cases where additional assistance is needed for sperm to fertilize the egg, a specialized procedure called “ICSI” (pronounced IK-see, meaning Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is added |
Embryo culture • Embryos are allowed to grow for up to 6 days in a carefully controlled environment that mimics the womb. • Assisted hatching (AH) is done with a technique requiring the use of microscopic tools and a microscope. • Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) will be conducted. *This is an additional cost to the global fee that has been discussed with your provider prior to this agreement. The components and costs associated with PGT are listed under additional services. |
Fresh embryo transfer • This is the final step in the process of assisted reproduction in which embryos are placed into the uterus with the intent to establish pregnancy. • Additional storage pricing is listed under additional services |
Complications Complications of IVF treatment are rare. Any treatment for a reaction or illness that patients may experience during their IVF cycle that are not “routine or normal” will be billed to their insurance under the signs and symptoms they are having. These claims may not be covered by insurance. If denied by the insurance, the claims will be the patient’s responsibility. |
