Diana Vaamonde, Phd

Embryologist/Lab Supervisor

Diana is one of the embryologists and Lab Supervisor at Conceptions Fertility Center. She has been an embryologist and head of research as well as scientific consultant at several In Vitro Fertilization clinics. Dr. Vaamonde has been a Professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the School of Medicine and Nursing of the University of Cordoba (Cordoba, Spain). 

She received her bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University in 1998 and her master’s from Old Dominion University/Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in 2004. She later completed a Ph.D. program in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences at the University of Cordoba (Spain) where she brought together knowledge from the reproductive medicine and the sports medicine fields, having published numerous research articles, books, and book chapters. 

Her main expertise and research focus is the relationship between infertility and physical exercise as well as lifestyle interventions and the use of complementary therapies to improve fertility and reproductive outcomes. 

She has presented part of her work in prestigious international meetings (European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), American Society of Reproductive Medicine, European College of Sport Sciences). She has been an invited speaker to several international meetings and symposia. 

Due to her expertise in the field of Exercise and Human Reproduction, she serves as a reviewer for a number of journals including Fertility and Sterility, Human Reproduction, Asian Journal of Andrology, etc. and she is part of the Scientific Committee and Editorial Board for several journals. 

She speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. She is very passionate about her job and thoroughly enjoys helping people fulfilling their dreams of having a family. She has two children, one living in Spain and one living with her. In her free time she loves spending time with her loved ones, go into nature, cuddling with her bunny, reading, listening to music, dancing, practicing capoeira, yoga, and meditation.
