How do you know if you have infertility?
As more time passes with unsuccessful attempts at pregnancy, or with increasing age (especially female age), infertility is more likely an issue.
WHEN TO SEEK HELP
For women, if you fit under one of these categories we assume infertility is present and recommend seeking help:
UNDER AGE 35
You are under the age of 35 with regular cycles, unprotected intercourse and no pregnancy after 1 year
Even if there is a clear cause of infertility for one partner, there is still a high probability of an infertility condition in the other partner. We recommend in most cases evaluation of both partners.
ABOVE AGE 35
You are above the age of 35 with regular cycles, unprotected intercourse and no pregnancy after 6 months
After age 35, the window of time available to address fertility issues is closing. We therefore recommend seeking help after only 6 months of unsuccessful attempts at pregnancy.
AGE 40 AND ABOVE
You are age 40 or over with regular cycles, unprotected intercourse and no pregnancy after 3 months
Healthy pregnancies may still be achieved when you are 40 or above. However, if you are in this age range, we recommend scheduling a fertility workup and consultation as soon as possible. The sooner you begin this process, the more options you will have available to you.
